Sheila Meade
Bio
Sheila Meade began acting several years go after a good friend suggested she audition for the annual Ashland Community and Technical College’s Christmas Carol production. The director, Ed Figgins, cast her in the role of Mrs. Cratchit and she immediately caught the theater bug! There’s nothing quite like being on stage and sharing the camaraderie of a cast to tell a story. It’s addictive. Storytelling is a central part of Sheila’s life, since her day job is that of an elementary school librarian. She shares her love of stories and theater with her students by writing and directing plays for her 5th grade classes and puppet shows with her younger students. When she’s not involved in theater productions, she enjoys reading dystopian novels, science fiction, short stories, history, poetry and a good Victorian mystery. She also enjoys working on her 80+ year old house, running, playing tennis, perusing antique stores, listening to podcasts and traveling! Sheila is a proud Kentuckian having grown up in Catlettsburg and is now a resident of Ashland. She is a graduate of Boyd County High School, Berea College and the University of Kentucky.
