Bio

Kate Morris studied theatre and performance at Emerson College in Boston and at Loyola University in Baltimore, as well as at Hedgerow Theatre in Rose Valley, PA where she was an extended company member. While she left acting to pursue a career in Speech and Language Pathology, she has never been able to completely leave the stage behind. Locally she has appeared on stages in both Charleston and Huntington. Favorite roles include Belinda in Noises Off twice (Kanawha Players and Foundation for the Tristate), Lil Bit in How I Learned to Drive (Curtains Up Players), Lady Macbeth in Macbeth (ARTS) Ivy in August: Osage County (ARTS), Sister Woman in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (Alban Arts Center) and Olivia in Twelfth Night (Alchemy). She appeared in the independent film, Meadowbridge, directed by Tijah Bumgarner, for which she won a Best Supporting Actor Award at the Oil Valley Film Festival. She is honored and humbled to take the helm and direct this production of Little Women that is both a nod to classic literature and a timely reminder of the importance of living an authentic life.
