Richard Perloff
Bio
Richard Perloff has been acting, directing, and teaching the works of William Shakespeare for more than 40 years. As an actor, Richard has appeared in dozens of Shakespearean productions at summer festivals, regional theatres, and on national tours across the U.S., and counts among his favorite roles: Richard II, Iago, Oberon, Benedick, Mercutio, Sir Andrew Aguecheek, Macduff, Touchstone, and, in separate productions, both of the Antipholus twins. As director, Richard’s favorites include productions of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” “Macbeth,” “Love’s Labour’s Lost,” and “Dialogue for Lovers” (a play comprised entirely of Shakespeare’s sonnets). As the primary instructor of undergraduate acting for five years at Ohio University (Athens, OH), Richard’s students were exposed to Shakespeare early and often…and, from all reports, most of them have gone on to lead perfectly respectable lives.
