Nora Ankrom
Bio
Nora Ankrom is Executive Director for Alchemy Theatre, a semi-professional theatre company in Huntington, WV, operating Alchemy Theatre’s Geneva Kent Center for the Arts. Nora is also a professor at the Marshall University School of Theatre and Dance. Nora made a late entrance to the stage and has been catching up with all the incredible talent surrounding her ever since. Growing up in Lost Creek, WV, Nora loved theatre and the arts but lacked performance or training opportunities outside of her high school’s show choir. She moved to Huntington, co-created her incredible children Joey and Darcy, and earned a BA and MA in Political Theory from Marshall University before she ever discovered the world of theatre for herself. Nora stumbled upon an audition workshop at Arts Resources for the Tri-State in March 2013 and has hardly left the stage since. In 2017, Nora helped found the WV Shakespeare Festival and Alchemy Theatre and served as Vice President of Alchemy Theatre for two years. Nora has been Alchemy’s Executive Director since 2021. Additionally, Nora is a Marshall University professor, teaching courses in Ancient Drama, Theatre History, and Theatre Appreciation.
