Bio

Austin caught the theatre bug at a young age when he was cast in a school play at five years old.  He went on to attend the Charleston Stage Company’s Summer Arts Camp for twelve years, studying with a long list of local artists who helped to foster his passion for theatre.  Austin performed in his first community theatre production at age 11, the Charleston Light Opera Guild’s 2004 production of Pippin, and has been performing in community theatre ever since.  Over the years, he has worked with the Charleston Light Opera Guild, the Contemporary Youth Arts Company, the Alban Arts Center, and Appalachian Artists Collective. 

 

After briefly studying theatre performance at Marshall University, Austin studied political science and public policy at the University of Charleston, and is now employed as a litigation legal secretary at law firm in Charleston.  He and his husband Cameron met 10 years ago through community theatre.  They live on Charleston’s West Side with their dogs Jeb and Judy and their cat Jessica.
